Missed opportunity

imageThe 79th icehockey world championship was hosted by Czech Republic in Prag. It was the only world championship of the former national team coach Glen Hanlon. It wasn’t the most succesful world championship for the Swiss, as they managed to qualify for the quarter-finals with the 4th and last place of the groupe stages to qualify for the quarter-finals. The Swiss national team didn’t manage to surprise the United States in the K.O.- phase and lost that one with 1:3. In the end Switzerland was ranked 8th, clearly under the potential of the Swiss national team. Let’s hope Fischer will be able to do it better this season!
