Three NLA teams remain in the CHL and with that there will be three Swiss teams during the quarter-finals to fight for entry into the semi-finals. The Lions will face the Växjö Lakers, Fribourg will try to fight of Vitkovice and Bern will have to face Sparta Prague. The quarter finals will take place at the beginning of December and will again be staged with a home and away game each.… continue reading

The Lions have lost in Lugano with a lucky one goal difference, Bern turned the game at home against Jyp and Fribourg tied the first game against Kalpa. Another important factor that can help a team to play much more efficient, is the powerplay. Four teams are currently having a great powerplay, with a goal scored within every fourth chance on the man advantage. We have made the NLA powerplay ranking and there have been a few surprises and rather worrying facts that have emerged out of our research!

After two disappointing years for the Swiss teams in the CHL, there has been a revolution during this years group stages. Six teams (ZSC Lions, EV Zug, Fribourg Gottéron, SC Bern, HC Davos, HC Lugano) have made it past the group stage and are now fighting for survival in the knock out phase, where there will be two games played during each round.
