The ZSC Lions, SC Bern and EV Zug are leading the league. Zug is on the third rank behind Bern and has an edge over Lausanne (4th rank) with 15 points! A huge lead over the other teams at the moment and these three teams will probably fight among themselves to find the regular season winner. After five years of play in North Amerika, Raphael Diaz returned to Switzerland. The Swiss/Spanish Defender from Zug had a tough time during the past two years in North America and we are pleased to see him back with us in Switzerland, where his appearance really gets appreciated. During his past season in North America, he only got to play for the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL). But has his appearance back in Zug really made a difference?… continue reading

After two disappointing years for the Swiss teams in the CHL, there has been a revolution during this years group stages. Six teams (ZSC Lions, EV Zug, Fribourg Gottéron, SC Bern, HC Davos, HC Lugano) have made it past the group stage and are now fighting for survival in the knock out phase, where there will be two games played during each round. After two seasons with the EV Zug, Pierre Marc Bouchard ends his career at the age of 31! The league’s top scorer of this season ends his career due to an issue he got hold of by a concussion at his head. With his decision he leaves back a big hole in the roster of EV Zug and it will be difficult to find a player with similar qualities as Bouchard.… continue reading

It should have been the season for Zug, to be Swiss champion once again. Under the control of Harold Kreis, the team performed well during the regular season, but didn’t manage to take its edge of the post regular season into the playoffs. The team from Zug, which would have been a favorite for the championship title got beaten down in four games, by the luxury team from Lugano.
