Only a few more weeks until the NHL playoffs and in this final phase of the regular season, another Swiss player has made it into the roster of a NHL team. Dean Kukan has played his first game for his Columbus Blue Jackets and had to face Roman Josi and his Predators. Unfortunately Kukan couldn’t help his team and lost the game in the end with a final score of 1-5 in favor of the Predators. Kukan himself got to play fifteen minutes and had to play on 18 shifts. Not bad for a first game, even though he had nothing to show for during this game. Josi on the other side got to score 3 assists and was a major help to his team, but nothing less is to expect from him.

Three teams on wild card

At the moment Roman Josi, Mark Streit and Nino Niederreiter are all placed on a wild card spot with their team and it seems likely that they won’t be helping the Swiss national team during the world championships in Russia.
