The second Swiss ice hockey cup in this century was won in Lausanne by the ZSC Lions with a 1:4 victory. The game though was closer than the score might let one think. After a good start by Zurich with a 0:2 edge over Lausanne, the team from Heinz Ehlers managed to cut the lead in half at the binning of the second period. Lausanne started to play stronger and was near the equalizer in a number of situations. Unfortunately they didn’t manage to add another goal and Zurich managed to score an empty netter in the 59th minute and a few seconds later Robert Nilsson made it to a 1:4 win. It’s the third cup title for Zurich after the two other titles in 1960 and 1961.
