Our Swiss NHL stars have already played two games in their playoff series and the series seem already pretty clear, as Nino Niederreiter and Mark Streit both trail their series with 0-2 against the Stars and the Capitals. The only Swiss player who knows how it feels to win NHL playoff games is Roman Josi, who has already won both of his games in Anaheim and will return home to use his home advantage against the Ducks. Who is playing well of our Swiss NHL players?
Roman Josi has lead his team to victory, not with goals, but with already three assists scored against the Ducks, he is in the spotlight for his Predators and keeps his top scorer attributes up in the conference quarter finals against the Ducks. As predicted, the Preds are having an edge over the Ducks and beat them with solid defensive game play and use their turn overs to score goals against the less disciplined Ducks from Anaheim!
Nino Niederreiter and his Wild will play their third playoff series game against the Stars from Dallas tonight and need to score. In the previous two meetings only one goal was scored. Niederreiter himself has a -2 game stat over the last two games and needs to improve and score in order to help his team, as also he is an important key player for his team.
Mark Streit and his Philadelphia Flyers knew that they will be facing a difficult task in beating the regular season winner from Washington. The Caps have won the first two games against the Flyers and also in this series only one goal was scored against the Caps until now. The only upside for Streit is a relatively low +/- stat of -1, which is not that bad, as the Flyers already got scored on six times.
Three clear series scores and it seems like Streit and Niederreiter will return home soon, if they don’t improve tonight in their home games. At least the three Swiss players still have their home advantage in front of them and this will be very important for Streit and Niederreiter to add some wins to maybe change the series in the end. For Josi it looks pretty well, as he has won the games in Anaheim and has the chance to win it in front of the home crowd in Nashville.
