Unfortunately, summer is the most boring season for every hockey fan. Without hockey a lot of us feel that something is missing. But still there have been a few events from May until August that we should need to keep in mind of this ending year. We have collected all of our best memes from this time period and have summarised, what you need to remember about the summer of 2016!

Normally the most common thing in summer to happen, in terms of icehockey, are transfers by teams that are looking to improve their team for the coming season. This is why we have listed the 10 most important transfers from the summer months!

Marc Arcobello to SC Bern, from Toronto Marlies (AHL)
Matt D’Agostini to HC Ambri-Piotta, from Genève Servette HC
Dustin Jeffrey to Lausanne HC, from Wilkes-Barre (AHL)
Nico Hischier to Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL), from SC Bern
Cory Conacher to Tampa Bay Lighting (NHL), from SC Bern
Goran Bezina to Medscak Zagreb (KHL), from Genève Servette HC
Janne Pesonen to HC Ambri-Piotta, from Skelleftea AIK
Robert Kousal to HC Davos, from Metallurg Novokuznetsk (KHL)
Mattias Sjörgen to ZSC Lions, from Ak Bars Kazan (KHL)
Toni Rajala to EHC Biel, from Luela HF (SHL)

Rescued Kloten
After new fears of Kloten being yet again bankrupt, Hans Ulrich Lehmann rescues the EHC Kloten during May 2016 from further struggle, after the Canadien investor had abandoned the Swiss NLA team. Lehmann, who is in the “Nationalrat” for his party SVP, will be leading the team and is trying to reduce the expenses of Kloten, in order to improve their financial situation.

Disappointing IIHF world championship for the three musketeers
With the 11th rank, the Swiss national team had ended its season with a rather disappointing result. With one victory and a victory after an overtime period, the Swiss had only won two out of seven games in total and this has to improve next year in France, where the next word championships will take place.
