A win for Ueli

Posted on Posted in Allgemein, Swiss National Team

Wow! What a game by the Swiss last night in Basel against the team from Germany! Even though this game was a must win for the Swiss, Patrick Fischer and his roster were trailing 0-3 after the first half of the game. Towards the end of the second, Du Bois and Lino Martschini both managed to score on a powerplay opportunity, to make it a one goal deficit before the end of the first two periods. Less than four minutes into the third, Martschini scored the tieing goal for the Swiss to force an overtime period, where the Swiss managed to get the winning hand back with a goal by Denis Hollenstein!

With this victory, the perpetration games for the Swiss national team have ended and they will face Kazakhstan in Russia on Saturday noon to start off this years world championships!
