Nino Niederreiter and his Minnesota Wild will meet the Dallas Stars in the first round of the NHL playoffs! The Wild have ended the regular season on the last wild card spot, behind Nashville and their opponent from Dallas have won the Western conference in front of the St. Louis Blues. A difficult series for Nino Niederreiter and his Wild and it won’t be easy for them to advance into the conference semi finals. We have listed the advantages over Dallas, which could be game changers for El Nino and his Wild.
Wild win series because:
- Even though the wild are overall the less advanced team, they could profit from their forward depth. Zach Parisie, Jason Pominville, Mikko Koivu and Nino Niederreiter are key players for the offense in Minnesota and will be important, if the wild manage to advance into the Western Semis.
- The wild also have a good mix of size, speed, experience, youth and skill in their team and this is most of all very important in the playoffs and can help them to beat the Stars who have a talented but less experienced team!
- The wild play their best, when they use their aggressiv forecheck to force turnovers and intimidate their opponent into critical mistakes.
Not an easy quest for Nino and his wild, as they are facing a team, who was consistent the whole year through and could connect to these efforts. The series could though be tighter then one might think, as three meetings between the two teams in the post regular season ended up in overtime! We believe in Nino and his wild and think that they will win this series with 3-4!
